United shares up despite staff loss

United Airlines, 1970

Nearly 600 United Airlines employees lost their jobs late 2021 after refusing to get vaccinated, yet UAL is still up 7.13% year to date.

Only around 3% of the company's 67,000 workers in the United States claimed religious or medical exemptions. Employees who were given exemptions were placed on temporary leave on Oct. 2, 2021 while those who were rejected would have five weeks to receive the vaccinations or risk firing.
